Understanding Your Analysis Results

When your gap analysis finishes, you'll land on a results page with a few distinct sections. Here's how to read it.

The four summary cards

At the top, four cards give you the headline numbers.

Gap Domains

The total number of sites linking to your competitors but not to you. These are your primary link building targets — they're already active in your space, they just haven't linked to you yet.

2+ Competitor Overlap

How many of those gap domains link to two or more of your competitors. These are your best targets first. A site that links to multiple competitors is much more likely to link to you than a cold site with no history in your niche.

Traffic Gap

The estimated organic visits per month you're missing relative to your competitors. It's a rough indicator of what's at stake if you close the backlink gap.

Est. Opportunity

A monthly dollar estimate of that traffic gap. It starts from a default conversion rate and average order value.

Click Customize on the card to adjust those inputs. A small form lets you set:

  • Conversion Rate (%) — the percentage of visitors who convert
  • Avg Order Value ($) — your average transaction size

Hit Apply and the estimate recalculates immediately. Useful if you're making the business case for link building to a client or internal team.

What's in the results page

Below the summary cards, the report breaks into several sections:

  • Link Profile Comparison — your domain side-by-side with competitors across DR, referring domains, and keywords
  • DR Distribution — a bar chart showing how your backlinks stack up against the competitor average across authority tiers
  • Keyword Performance Gaps — keywords where competitors are outranking you, with traffic and value estimates
  • Link Gap Domains — the full filterable table of gap domain opportunities
  • Prospect Sites — outreach-ready sites matched to your keywords and niche

Each section has its own help article if you want to go deeper.

Analysis states

The dashboard tracks your analysis as it runs. Here's what each status means:

  • Pending — queued, not started yet
  • Analyzing — pulling backlink data
  • Enriching — layering in DR, traffic, and contact data
  • Scoring — calculating opportunity scores
  • Completed — results are ready
  • Failed — something went wrong

If an analysis fails, click Retry on the dashboard to run it again.
