What is Link Builder?

Link Builder is Uprankly's outreach workspace. It covers everything from finding link prospects to sending campaigns and tracking what comes back — without switching between tools. If you're doing manual link building (guest posts, niche edits, digital PR), this is where that work lives.

It's built for freelancers and agencies running link building for clients, though solo site owners use it too.

What you can do with it

Find prospects

There are four ways to build a prospect list, and you'll probably use all of them at different times.

Keyword Prospecting — Enter your target keywords and Link Builder finds sites already ranking for them. Strong starting point for any new project.

Competitor Analysis — The Competitor Matrix shows your domain next to your competitors across DR, traffic, and backlinks. Hit Show Gap Sites on any competitor to see who links to them but not you.

Competitor Opportunities — A cross-project view of all your gap domains in one place. Filter by DR, traffic, overlap count, or status.

Site Finder — Browse our database directly. Filter by niche, DR, and traffic to find sites that fit the profile you're after.

Build and manage your prospect list

Prospects you find through any of those tools get added to a list inside your project. You can also bring them in two other ways:

  • Upload a CSV (download the template first to get the format right)
  • Import from Link Planner — export gap domains from a Link Planner analysis and pull them straight in

The Prospects page shows each domain with its SEO metrics, contact status, and where it sits in your workflow.

Enrich with SEO data and contacts

Before you pitch anyone, you need two things: verified SEO metrics and an actual email address.

On the Prospects page, select the sites you want and run bulk actions:

  • SEO Enrichment — pulls DR, traffic, backlinks, and referring domain counts. 3 credits per site.
  • Contact Enrichment — finds email addresses for the site admin or editor. 3 credits per site.

Once it runs, focus on sites with solid DR, relevant traffic, and a confirmed contact. That's your working list.

Set up email sending

Don't use your main business domain for outreach. Set up a dedicated sending domain first — go to Email Accounts, click Add Domain, and follow the three-step wizard. If your domain is on Cloudflare, GoDaddy, or Porkbun, Uprankly can write the DNS records for you automatically.

Once that's verified, connect your email accounts (Gmail, Outlook, or Custom SMTP/IMAP), set your daily sending limit, and add a signature.

Write pitch templates

Go to Pitch Templates and click New Template. Variables let you personalize at scale: `{{firstName}}`, `{{lastName}}`, `{{Domains}}`, `{{accountSignature}}`. Start with 2–3 templates built around different angles — you'll quickly learn which ones get replies.

Run outreach campaigns

Go to Campaigns, click Create Campaign, and the editor walks you through it: name the campaign, add prospects, set follow-ups, schedule sends, assign an email account, and launch. From there it runs on its own.

Campaign Analytics tracks live stats — emails sent, opened, replied, and bounced.

Track links and report results

  • Link Profiles shows backlink health across all your projects
  • Analytics Dashboard gives you the full picture: links acquired over time, indexation status, links broken down by domain rating

If you're managing client work, go to Agency > Clients. Each client gets their own orders so you can track work per client separately.

How teams typically use it

Most teams run the same loop on repeat:

  1. Pull in prospects through keyword or competitor research
  2. Enrich the list — SEO data first, then contacts
  3. Filter down to the sites worth pitching
  4. Launch a campaign with a follow-up sequence
  5. Watch replies come in, track which links go live
  6. Feed what you learned back into the next batch

The whole thing — prospecting, outreach, monitoring, client reporting — happens inside one project. You're not exporting to spreadsheets or copy-pasting between tabs.

Getting started

If you haven't set up a project yet, that's the first thing to do. Go to Link Builder > Projects and click New Project. A five-step wizard walks you through entering your URL, adding competitors, choosing target keywords, setting your outreach targets (default: DR 50+, 25 links/month), and confirming. Takes about three minutes.

Once the project is live, your prospect lists, campaign space, and analytics dashboard are ready to go.
